This dynamic pairing of accordion and cello (or flute, guitar, and voice occasionally) conjures a romantic atmosphere full of nostalgia, imagination and joy. Incorporating elements of classical, pan-European, tango, Latin, Balkan, Andean, klezmer, jazz, and more, there's nothing like The Just Desserts. No matter how formal, casual, festive, or performance-oriented an event may be, this eclectic duo makes the diversity of the world's greatest music profoundly accesible -and delectable - to diverse audiences in any setting.
The Just Desserts (Lisa Peterson and Michael Shay) have been performing together since 2007 when they embarked on years of international touring and multi-media collaborations, performing in seven countries on three continents and recording three albums. WEDDINGS: The Just Desserts' repertoire and flexible instrumentation are perfect for both traditional and non-traditional/personalized music for wedding ceremonies and receptions. We work hand in hand with planners and couples to develop the perfect program for every event. In addition to playing accordion and cello, Lisa and Michael also play piano, flute and guitar, and sing, allowing for an array of options for making your vision of the perfect day a reality - including “favorite song” requests! Soundbath elements -including crystal and Tibetan bowls, gongs, bells, and chimes- are also available for wedding ceremony customization.
MUSICAL SOUNDBATHS: Guided by Board Certified Licensed Music Therapist Lisa Peterson (and her 30 years of experience), The Just Desserts also offer 75-minute “Musical Soundbaths” utilizing traditional crystal and Tibetan bowls interwoven with musical elements such as melody, harmony, rhythm, improvisation and composition, creating a unique experience of sound healing you won't find anywhere else. Taking advantage of their multi-instrumental abilities and vast repertoire of classical and traditional music from around the world, Musical Soundbaths with The Just Desserts feature crystal and Tibetan bowls, cello, flute, chimes, percussion, overtone singing, accordion, and more.
